Habe auf einer alten MSNBC-Seite einen kleinen Text zu seinem Auftritt mit Bild gefunden. Da erfährt man etwas mehr, aber besser wäre es natürlich, wenn wir das komplette Video hätten.
Hier der Text.
When actor Robert Urich found out he had a rare form of cancer called synovial sarcoma, he had a lot of decisions to make.
There were medical treatment issues and professional issues. And there were personal issues. It was either opt for the inevitable rumor mill that occurs anytime a high-profile Hollywood type tries to shroud himself/herself in secrecy, or, go public.
The former star of "Spenser: For Hire" chose the latter.
It was a tough decision, one that cost Urich a second season of last year's hit TV show "Lazarus Man" (the show was promptly cancelled once he went public), but he's since offset the loss by gaining the support and encouragement of thousands of fans.
Urich revealed his condition via traditional and technological means. He talked to the press, and he reached out to fans on America Online chat. Urich also created a home for himself on the Web, an unassuming site where fans can check out his life story, pictures, and send email messages of support.
As he wages his battle against cancer, Urich has every intention of keeping his fans, friends, and family informed. And in between doctor's appointments and answering email, Urich is keeping himself busy with other projects, such as promoting his CyberAngel security software, which, among other things reports stolen computers.
Urich, who has appeared in more than a dozen TV series in the last 20 years, isn't your typical computer geek. In fact, he's hardly a geek. Rather, he's a believer that technology--medical, PC, and other--will make his life better.
