Ich lese gerade die englischsprachige Ausgabe der Autobiografie von Larry Manetti (Aloha Magnum). Dort schreibt er an einer Stelle auch über Robert Urich und wie sich die beiden kennengelernt haben. Einen eigenen Thread wollte ich dafür nicht aufmachen, da es auch um Bob's erste Ehefrau Barbara Rucker geht.
Hier die Stelle:
Twice a week, I'd leave the office early to attend drama courses at North-western University. As a result, I was selected for roles in small theater productions of Come Blow Your Horn, The Heiress, and Barefoot in the Park. Robert Urich and John Reilly, who became a soap opera star, were also in these shows.
Robert Urich (Vega$ and Spenser: For Hire) and I first met well over twenty-five years ago, when he was in Chicago trying to become an actor. He attended an acting class called the Ted Liss Acting Workshop while I was running around town like a wild man with my flashy girlfriends. One of the girls I was dating was Barbara Rucker. I introduced her to Urich, who is another Selleck, a great big, good-looking guy. After meeting him, she was no longer my girlfriend. Urich took off for Hollywood with her and they eventually got married. Bob became a close friend of Selleck's, too, and often visited him in Hawaii.
Bei meiner Ausgabe ist die Stelle auf Seite 32, also ganz vorne, zu finden. Habe mich natürlich sehr gefreut. Vom Admin weiß ich dass er das Buch auch besitzt.
