Guten Nachrichten. Es gibt von James Rosin ein neues Buch:
THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO by James Rosin
A look back at the popular police drama filmed on location in San Francisco and produced by Quinn Martin for the ABC network, starring Academy Award winning actors Karl Malden and Michael Douglas. Featuring exclusive interviews and commentary from Michael Douglas, Richard Hatch, producers John Wilder and Cliff Gould and many others. Photos, episode summaries and biographies are included. 265 pages (Autumn Road Company)Endlich also ein Buch über eine der coolsten Serien aller Zeiten. Die Rezessionen klingen doch mal schon sehr gut:
Behind the scenes of a 1970s classic"The Streets of San Francisco" was a classic police drama that highlighted the great landscape of that beautiful city. The characters were vivid and the stories as immediate then as any "Law & Order" plot is today. This book details the history of the show, highlights historical trivia, quotes and comments by cast, crew and writers, and gives a complete listing of each episode and its plot line. For the 70s TV buff, the fan of the show, or someone who wants to know more about something they've seen on late night television, this is a great and compact resource. Its contents are exhaustive and the varying sources, from Michael Douglas and Karl Malden to Quinn Martin himself, make its anecdotes fascinating reading. It's the only book of its kind. Check it out, Buddy Boy.
Great Series, Cool Book March 9, 2012 By Kert Conrad
This is a concise and informative book on one of the best TV crime dramas of all time, filled with photos and fascinating trivia. The interviews with the production staff and writers such as Dorothy Fontana are particularly interesting. It's definitely a must-have for STREETS fans or anyone who collects books on classic TV.
Now if only CBS/Paramount would resume releasing the series on DVD. The first two seasons were outstanding, but viewers have been anxiously awaiting Season Three on disc for quite some time. This book would certainly serve as a nice companion to some new volumes of THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO.
