Tom Selleck spielt in einigen Folgen der Serie Friends Dr. Richard Burke. Der Freund der Gellers und Ex-Freund von Monica.

Tom Selleck als Dr. Richard Burke:

Tom Selleck wurde weltweit durch die Fernsehserie "Magnum" berühmt.

Rolle: Dr. Burke war Monicas Augenarzt. Als er sie für einen Catering-Job engagierte, verliebten sich die beiden und hatten eine tolle Zeit, bis Monica über die Zukunft nachdachte. Sie wollte Kinder, doch Richard (21 Jahre älter) konnte nur schwer damit anfreunden, was schließlich zur Trennung führte. Ausgerechnet als Chandler seinen Heiratsantrag an Monica plante, tauchte Richard wieder auf und kam Chandler zuvor. Nach einigen Turbulenzen entschied sich Monica für Chandler.

Über Friends:

Friends (englisch: „Freunde“) ist eine amerikanische Sitcom. Bereits kurz nach dem Start war Friends in den USA ein großer Erfolg. Die Darsteller Courteney Cox Arquette, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer und vor allem Jennifer Aniston wurden zu Stars.

Friends geht über eine reine Sitcom hinaus und weist, vor allem im Bezug auf die Beziehungen der Protagonisten untereinander, viele Elemente einer Seifenoper auf. Auch werden die Charaktere im Laufe der Jahre weiterentwickelt. Wichtige Elemente sind dabei die Liebesbeziehungen von Ross und Rachel sowie Chandler und Monica.
