2.3. Die Spur nach Nashville (Road to Nashville)


Jaime probt mit ihrer Schulklasse einen Countrysong, um bei einem Wettbewerb auftreten zu können. Währenddessen stellt Oscar ihr einen alten Freund von sich vor, Musiker Muffin Calhoun. Oscar bittet Jaime, Muffin bei der Suche nach jemandem behilflich zu sein, der geheime Regierungssachen an feindliche Agenten weitergibt. Sie begleitet Muffin nach Nashville, wo er sie seinen Freunden als Sängerin "Jody Lee" vorstellt. Jaime soll ihr Können unter Beweis stellen und singt "Living in the country", den Song, den sie mit ihrer Klasse eingeübt hat. Bei ihren heimlichen Recherchen findet sie heraus, daß Countrysänger Buck und seine Frau die gestohlenen Regierungscodes in ihre Musik einbauen, die beim Abspielen der Platten übertragen werden. Außerdem bemerkt sie, daß Buck dazu genötigt wird, das geheime Material weiterzugeben. Doch dann werden sie und Muffin enttarnt, und man versucht sie, umzubringen. Jaime gelingt es, sich zu befreien. Jetzt geht sie zum Gegenangriff über und verhindert die Übertragung der Codes.

Wissenswerte Infos zur Folge:



Jaimes Undercover – Name in dieser Folge lautet „Jody Lee Sommers“.


Gaststar Doc Severinson (Muffin Calhoun) wurde als Leiter der Band in Johnny Carsons „Tonight Show“ (von 1969 bis 1992) bekannt.



Lindsay Wagner singt den Song „Good to be alive in the country“ selbst. Bestandteil ihres Vertrages war es, daß sie während der Serie singen durfte, um ein breiteres Spektrum, ihrer Talente zeigen zu können.


Wieder einmal wird Jaime nicht erkannt, wobei sie doch noch eineinhalb Jahre zuvor als Profitennisspielerin unterwegs war.


Stacy O’Brien spielt in dieser Folge eine von Jaimes Schülerinnen „Stacy“. Später bekommt die gleiche Schauspielerin den Rollenname „Terry“, ebenfalls als Schülerin in  den Folgen „Die Verwechslung“ und „Gejagt“.


Buck Buckleys Song „Fly like an eagle“ wird erneut gespielt, als Jaime in der Folge „Der Fluch des Massau“ diesen in ihrem Autoradio hört.



In der (deutschen) synchronisierten Fassung fehlt komplett die letzte Szene, als Jaime Muffin mit ihrer Klasse beobachtet, wie diese zusammen einen Song singen.
