Seit einem Unfall leidet Ex-Bauleiter Mike (Lee Majors) unter Höhenangst und verdingt sich als Truckfahrer. Da erreicht ihn ein Hilferuf der Tochter eines alten Freundes. Die taffe Cass (Jennifer O'Neill) will das Hochhaus ihres Vaters fristgerecht fertigstellen, doch die Konkurrenz versucht das mit allen Mitteln zu verhindern. Mike ruft fünf alte Kumpel vom Bau zusammen, um den Job zu stemmen. - Coole Macho-Action um sechs Helden des (Arbeits-)Alltags.

Einer der besten Filme mit Lee. Auch ein sehr interessanter Thriller. Ausgerechnet der Gangster hat Lees sptere Colt-Synchro.

Stimmt, war mir auch aufgefallen - witzig irgendwie [1]

ja, ich mag den Film auch sehr gerne, zu schade, dass der immer so verdammt selten im TV kommt - und auf DVD gibts den auch nicht [8]

Der Tod von Big Lew Cassidy (George Kennedy) wurde vom Stuntman A.J. Bakunas gemacht welcher während des Drehs starb.

Stuntman A.J. Bakunas died doubling George Kennedy in a fall that killed Big Lew Cassidy (Kennedy). The scene had been shot safely with the stuntman jumping from the ninth floor of the construction site and shooting location in Lexington, Kentucky. At the time he held the record for high falls, set while doubling Burt Reynolds in Um Kopf und Kragen (1978), but when rival Dar Robinson beat his distance in a helicopter jump at Knott's Berry Farm, A.J. and Lee Majors returned to the star's home state to re-shoot the opening of the movie with Bakunas jumping from the top of the building. He fell correctly onto an airbag, but the airbag split on impact. His father was with him at the time of his death, but his mother never visited A.J. on-set because she always feared he would be killed.
